Marvel released 32 new “Avenge the Fallen” posters for Avengers: Endgame Tuesday morning featuring the heroes of the MCU. Those who survived Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Infinity War are shown in color, while those who weren’t so lucky are featured in black-and-white.
While Infinity War shows us the fate of most of our heroes post-snap, MCU fans have wondered about Valkyrie’s (Tessa Thompson) and Shuri’s (Letitia Wright) unknown fate since watching the film. The posters give us confirmation on the two.
Valkyrie is featured in color, indicating she survived the events of Infinity War, but SHURI ISN’T IN COLOR! Shuri’s monochrome image on her Endgame poster confirms Wakanda’s smartest and one of the MCU’s most-beloved disappeared with her king, T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) after the snap.
Shuri’s absence means the Avengers team is going to have to figure out a way to reverse the snap without one of their most brilliant members, though there is still no shortage of brains on the squad.
With Shuri gone and Tony Stark wandering in space (two of the Avengers’ science peeps), one thing to look for in Avengers: Endgame is who figures out a way to get the fallen back and reverse the snap. . . if they find a way.
The two trailers that have been released feature no new footage of the heroes that fell victim to Thanos in Infinity War, so there’s no telling whether they are prominently featured in Endgame or not, even though Marvel fans are sure they’ll re-appear.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe story continues when Avengers: Endgame hits U.S. theaters April 26.
